Introduction

A fighter who learned early that the hardest battles aren't always in the ring.
A home filled with more stuff than words.
And a family learning that letting go takes more than just strength.
In this episode, we meet Andrew, a martial arts coach who spent his childhood fighting bullies and the weight of being different. Born to a German-American father and a Taiwanese mother, home was never simple — but it was never without love. His mother Annie, once a brilliant academic, now lives with dementia and a hoarding disorder. His father Richard, a former writer, holds on to things the way he holds on to the past — as if every object carries a piece of someone he's afraid to lose. He also has strong opinions about cleanliness — he just defines it differently than most. After moving his mother into a care facility, Andrew and his father face the aftermath: a home and office buried under decades of clutter. With his martial arts brothers Shawn and Syu, they wage the Nurgle War against the chaos — not just to clean, but to heal. Through sweat, laughter, and the occasional live cockroach, they begin the slow work of clearing out the past. But the real question isn't what to throw away — it's what to keep, and who you'll become when the dust settles.
How do you make peace with a family that never quite fit the mold?
What happens when the person you're trying to save doesn't want to be saved?
And when the mess is more than just physical, what does it take to finally clear the air?
Let's dive in and find out!
